Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index rose by 4.1 percentage points in May 2026, reaching 17.8% from 13.7% in April. This improvement was driven mainly by a 6.8 percentage point increase in the Consumer Expectations Index, which climbed to 26.7%.

Households’ expectations for their own economic outlook strengthened, with the corresponding indicator rising to 42.1% from 40.2%. Expectations for the overall economy also improved significantly: views on the general economic outlook advanced to 21.1% from 10.2%, and expectations for the country’s future economic conditions increased to 16.8% from 9.2%.

In contrast, the Economic Conditions Index edged down by 0.1 percentage point. Assessments of households’ current economic situation weakened, slipping to 3.1% from 5.7%. However, willingness to purchase durable goods increased, rising to 5.8% from 3.3%.

On a year-on-year basis, the Consumer Confidence Index was 21.6 percentage points higher than in May 2025.
