16.09.202612:34:45UTC+00US Export Prices Rise More than Expected

US export prices rose 0.6% month-over-month in August 2026, beating market expectations for a 0.5% increase and rebounding from a revised 1.4% drop in July. The advance was broad-based, with both agricultural and nonagricultural export prices moving higher.

Agricultural export prices were up 0.5% after a 0.4% gain in July, extending a run of monthly increases that began in January. Higher prices for corn and animal feeds more than offset lower meat prices.

Nonagricultural export prices increased 0.7%, reversing declines of 1.6% in July and 0.8% in June. The rise was driven by higher prices for industrial supplies and materials, capital goods, and automotive vehicles, parts, and engines.

On a yearly basis, US export prices were 8.6% higher in the 12 months through August, underscoring persistent upward pressure on the prices of US goods sold abroad, despite the sharp monthly decline recorded in July.
